Peer Leadership

Peer leaders are eighth grade students who are selected to participate in a Peer Leader Training Program. During the first part of the year, students are trained on how to become effective leaders in the school and community. Students are typically recommended by their teachers and must meet the following qualifications:

Academic: 80% or higher in all classes.

Behavior: Responsible, dependable, and gets along well with both peers and adults.

Conduct: Can be a role model for others. Students must have an S in conduct for all classes.

Leadership: Comfortable speaking to group, self-motivated and willing to act as a leader at LMS.

Service: Be willing to tutor others, help with special programs or service projects before, during, and/or after school at least once a week.
